{Vegan} Apple Crisp
Updated: Jun 21, 2020

I‘ve been on a dessert kick lately. Can you relate?
Here is a typical after-dinner conversation between me and my boyfriend.
Sean: I have a question for you.
His eyes concentrated on mine, all serious-like.
Me: Yeah? What’s up?
I used to think something important was about to go down until his response.
Sean: So, what‘s for dessert?
Ha! That boy has a sweet tooth, but so do I. Anyway, apple crisps are easy to prepare and above all else, apple anything makes my guy extremely happy. This crisp took minimal time to throw together, and it was ready to eat in about an hour.
{Vegan} Apple Crisp
serves: 6
Ingredients
Filling:
5 cups fresh apples, peeled & sliced
1/2 cup granulated white sugar
1-2 tsp cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup vegan butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an iron skillet or large baking dish with butter.
Combine the sliced apples with the sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract in a large bowl and mix until all of the apples are evenly coated. Pour into your iron skillet.
Using the same bowl you‘ve mixed the apples in, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Pour in the melted butter and stir, using your hands to incorporate, until crumbly. Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the top of the apples.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the apples are soft and the topping is golden brown. Allow cooling slightly before serving. Serve warm with ’nice’ cream or your desired topping.

Enjoy!
